Description
The Roman Lorica Hamata is directly inspired by Celtic design, as the Celts are credited with inventing chain mail. The Lorica Hamata we have reconstructed here retains many of its original Celtic features, making it perfectly suited for Roman or Celtic cavalrymen, or even for Caesar's legionaries during the Gallic Wars or Hannibal's legionaries during the Punic Wars. This Roman chain mail is handmade from 1.3 mm thick spring steel rings with a diameter of approx. 9 mm each. The ornate decorations made of pure, solid brass are the most attractive feature of this historical chain armour, which also holds the two shoulder ring plates in place. These spring steel rings are stronger than the regular rings made of unalloyed steel. 296N chest length weight M 102 86 9 L 117 91 11 XL 132 96 12 XXL 147 102 14
