One coat is usually sufficient, or two coats for a richer, darker finish. With a coverage of up to 24 sq.m per litre, a single 1 litre tin goes a long way on floors, doors, skirting boards, staircases, furniture, and worktops. Versatile application and lightfast colour: The dye can be applied with a brush, cloth, or spray to all types of new bare or freshly stripped wood. It is non-fading and non-bleeding, and can be diluted with White Spirit (2 parts dye to 1 part White Spirit) for a lighter shade. The Light Teak shade can also be intermixed with other colours in the Rustins Wood Dye range to create a custom tone. Compatible with the full Rustins finishing range: Once dry (6-8 hours, preferably overnight before water-based topcoats), the dye can be sealed with any Rustins wood finish, including Quick Drying Varnish, Polyurethane Varnish, Plastic Coating, Danish Oil, Teak Oil, or French Polish. It can also be added directly to Rustins Polyurethane Varnish, Danish Oil, or Teak Oil at up to 20% to tint the finish. This dye conforms to the Safety of Toys Regulations BS EN 71 Part 3 1995.
