Introducing a powerful, heavy boned, muscular draft horse, the Ardennes is one of the oldest draft breeds and originates from the Ardennes region of France and Belgium. The Ardennes would have worked through tough terrain of forests and hills whilst also providing transport for military campaigns. Just standing at 15 to 16hh, these powerful animals can weight up to 2,200 pounds.
