As a 100% acrylic paint, Fusion™ is extremely hard wearing just on its own (after 21 days it has fully ‘cured’ and reached its full durability), however there are always those projects that get a lot more daily wear and tear and need that little bit extra protection. Tough Coat™ is perfect for those high traffic surfaces such as table tops and kitchen cupboards. Our non-yellowing water-based wipe on sealer is easily applied with a damp lint free cloth, or brush for detailed areas, and dries to either a beautiful matte or satin gloss finish. SELECTION OF TOP COAT: Please note Tough Coat is a water-based top coat, perfect for use over paler colours due to its non-yellowing properties. Top coats can, however, draw tannins through a painted surface if unprimed. We recommend using a primer over raw wood surfaces if you are intending on painting in a pale colour.

When choosing a top coat for dark colours , water-based top coats may cause cloudiness unless applied in a very thin, consistent coat. Oil-based top coats are preferable over dark colours - Beeswax Finish or Hemp Oil will add some durability, or select Stain & Finishing Oil if high durability is required. Please note oil-based products take longer to dry and cure so should not be reapplied too soon after first application. TO USE: Shake gently before use to ensure the product is thoroughly mixed. If applying to a recently painted surface, allow 12-24 hours of drying time before applying. For best results, use with a damp lint free pad and apply two coats 2-4 hours apart. In humid areas, longer drying times may be required. Our Lint-Free Microfibre Applicator Pads are perfect for applying and wiping off Tough Coat. Coverage: A 500ml bottle of Tough Coat™ will cover approximately 7 sq.mtr. (75 sq.ft.) Feeling Inspired?
