Three liberal coats are recommended for most domestic floors, with a fourth coat advised on more absorbent surfaces or in light commercial settings. The varnish re full hardness after 3 days and accepts light foot traffic just 2 hours after the final coat is applied. Transparent, non-yellowing satin finish: The varnish appears milky-white in the tin and on first application, but dries to a completely clear, hard and durable transparent finish with a satin sheen. It is non-toxic and low odour, making it practical for indoor use in occupied spaces. Once cured, the finish is resistant to water, alcohol, white spirit, and similar solvents. Suitable for a wide range of interior floor surfaces: This product is suitable for bare wood, hardboard, MDF, unsealed cork, concrete, stone, unsealed quarry tiles, and unsealed terracotta tiles - all commonly found in Irish homes. Apply using a synthetic brush or varnish roller, working evenly and finishing in the direction of the grain. Ideal application temperature is between 15°C and 25°C; do not apply below 10°C or in conditions of high humidity. Coverage, storage, and clean-up: Each litre covers 12 to 15 square metres per coat, depending on the absorbency of the surface - meaning a single 5-litre tin can cover up to 75 square metres per coat. Clean brushes and equipment with water while the varnish is still wet; if dried on, use Rustins Brush Restorer or Rustins Strypit.
