Description

Necrobarista is a title from 2020 created by the Australian studio Route 59. The visual novel presents a world in which a coffee shop called Terminal has a very special place. The game is presented in a highly appreciative graphic form - styled in a 3D cinematic technique based also on the aesthetics known from anime. The game is inspired by, among others, animes created in the 90s and Japanese visual novels.

Necrobarista StoryThe mystical café located in the heart of Melbourne, Australia is the highlight of the game's entire story. What distinguishes this place from other eateries, would you like to know? Well, among other matters, the fact that this particular cafe can be visited not only by living people but also by the souls of the dead. In addition, you can face a whole range of intriguing personalities: necromancers, gangsters, hipsters and bartenders working here. Among the characters that you can meet in Terminal, there is the bartender Maddy, the necromancer Chaya, or the metal-headed Ned. The goal of the game is to discover the secrets of this magical realm and learn about the processes related to death, such as accepting it as the natural course of life.

Necrobarista GameplayAs it happens in visual novel games, the game is about learning things from descriptions and speech bubbles, and how the story unfolds depends on how the player uses the information received. The game follows the adventures of a set of characters, and the main theme of the game is the fact that in this unusual cafe, the dead receive their final 24 hours in the world of the living to be able to spend the last time among mortals.

The scenes are presented from the first-person point of view, and the mechanics are simply clicking on objects and characters with the mouse. And all this is wrapped up in an amazing soundtrack of the incomparable Kevin Penkin, also known for composing music for the anime "Made in Abyss" and many more.

ReceptionNecrobarista game received special praise for its remarkably aesthetic, anime-inspired graphics. It has also been accepted extremely well for its unobtrusive story told in an interesting way that creates a truly magical and supernatural atmosphere. All this makes playing Necrobarista easy to fall in love with this gorgeous world and forget about the existence of anything else.
