70cl / 41% / Thompson Bros - A rare chance to try single grain whisky from Glasgow’s Strathclyde distillery, especially with this degree of maturation. Soft and sweet notes of charred banana bread, a sprinkling of aromatic fruit and vanilla on the nose lead into the gentle palate to be joined by stone fruit, coconut, oak spice and light malt, with a herbal element joining a vanilla-led finish. The Thompson Bros are proving very adept at sourcing some very interesting old grain whisky casks and long may it continue.
