Combining top features from several of our work vests and waxed canvas reinforced with ballistic nylon, it stops wind and water in their tracks.The 17-oz. heavy-duty canvas is thoroughly saturated with the same wax that has made Filson's oil finish Tin Cloth such a formidable barrier to water for nearly a century. Imported from England, this special canvas is produced by the famed British Millerain, pioneers in weatherproofing fabric since 1880. A reinforcing layer of Cordura® 7-oz. ballistic nylon covers the shoulders for added protection. Ballistic nylon, originally developed for WWII flak jackets, is an exceptionally abrasion-resistant 2x2 basket weave of sturdy nylon threads, and is treated with a double PU coating for exceptional water resistance. For warmth against the skin, the collar is lined with sturdy 9.5-oz. cotton corduroy and the pockets with 12-oz.
