Gaviscon Infant helps to prevent gastric regurgitation in infants where competence of the cardiac sphincter has not been fully established. The indications for use are gastric regurgitation, gastro-oesophageal reflux and reflux associated with hiatus hernia in infants and young children. Not appropriate for premature infants or children under 1 year of age (except under specilaist medical supervision), children over 2years of age, adults or the elderly. Treatment should not be administered more than six times per 24 hours.

Gaviscon Infant helps prevents reflux, where the stomach contents seep back up the oesophagus (food pipe). This medicine has two main ingredients sodium alginate and magnesium alginate which form a gel in the stomach when they come into contact with stomach acid and thickens stomach contents. This helps prevent reflux.
