Xtex 250mg/5ml Oral Solution is a mucolytic medicine containing carbocisteine, used to help loosen and clear thick, excessive mucus from the respiratory tract. By reducing the thickness of phlegm, it helps make mucus easier to clear, which may be useful in conditions where a chesty cough is associated with heavy or sticky mucus.

Each 5ml dose contains 250mg of carbocisteine. The orange-flavoured oral solution is suitable for adults and children aged 2 years and over as directed. Do not use if you have an active stomach ulcer and speak to your pharmacist before use if you have a history of peptic ulcer. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking other medicines, or symptoms do not improve, seek advice from your pharmacist or doctor.
