It provides both nitrogen and phosphate, two nutrients that are important for healthy plant growth and strong root development. Its gradual release of nutrients over an extended period makes Bonemeal suitable for a wide range of garden plants and crops. Bonemeal: Encourages healthy root development. Ideal for bulbs, herbaceous plants, shrubs, roses, fruit trees and strawberries. Organic slow-release fertiliser. Bonemeal can be used before sowing or planting, as a spring top dressing for established roses and border plants, and around fruit trees and bushes during autumn. Sizes available 1.25kg box 2.5kg box 5kg tub 10kg tub 20kg bag How to use Apply from February until the end of the growing season in October. Distribute evenly over the soil at the recommended rate, preferably when the soil is moist. Lightly hoe the fertiliser into the top surface of the soil. In dry conditions, water the treated area after application. Note: One gloved handful contains approximately 35g. Prior to Sowing or Planting Apply at a rate of 140g per square metre (approximately 4oz per square yard) and mix thoroughly into the soil. Established Roses, Shrubs and Border Plants Apply as a top dressing in spring at 140g per square metre (approximately 4oz per square yard), gently working the fertiliser into the surface. While plants are actively growing, re-apply at 70g per square metre (approximately 2oz per square yard) every 6 weeks. Fruit Trees and Bushes Apply as a top dressing in autumn at 140g per square metre (approximately 4oz per square yard). Why use Bonemeal in autumn? Autumn is an ideal time to apply Bonemeal around established fruit trees and bushes. Its slow-release nutrients remain available over an extended period, helping support healthy root development while plants prepare for the following growing season. Fertiliser analysis Nitrogen (N): 4.0% Total Phosphorus Pentoxide (P₂O₅): 16% The phosphorus content supports root development, while nitrogen contributes to healthy plant growth. Hints & Tips Read the directions carefully before use. Store in a dry place away from children, pets and foodstuffs. Some animals, particularly dogs, may be attracted to Bonemeal and may attempt to eat it. Mix the product thoroughly into the soil after application to reduce attraction. The product may irritate cut or broken skin. Always wear gardening gloves and wash hands after use. Do not exceed the recommended application rates. Avoid allowing fertiliser to remain lodged on plant leaves and stems. Product information Always refer to the current product label and manufacturer guidance before use. Brand: Vitax
