Shires Hackamore CheeksPerfect as a replacement set, the Shires Hackamore Cheeks are made from stainless steel and are a perfect fit for the Shires Blenheim Hackamore Leathers.

Also known as the Mechanical Hackamore, the Hackamore bit works by putting pressure on the horse's nose and jaw when the reins are used. When the reins are relaxed, the Hackamore rests in a completely nonrestrictive neutral position. The Hackamore also applies pressure over other points of the head, with poll pressure and chin strap pressure similar to the action of a curb piece.

Although considered a softer bit alternative, improper Hackamore use or placement can be detrimental to both horse and rider. Ensure the nose piece is in the appropriate position, seeking professional help if necessary to guarantee correct placement. It is recommended to use soft hands with the Hackamore due to the pressure it applies on several parts of the face. PLEASE NOTE: This is for the stainless steel cheek pieces only.
