The fusible link sits on the heat exchanger and is the last line of defence — it only cuts power if temperature reaches 129°C, well past the point the overheat switch is designed to catch. By the time the thermal fuse blows, something has gone seriously wrong — a fault severe enough to push temperature past the overheat switch's limit. Thermal fuses are a one-shot device: once blown, there's no reset and no workaround, only replacement.
