The narrow rectangular base has grooves along the edges act as small gripping teeth that lock onto the channel when tightened. Has a tapped hole in the center and incorporates a short spring attached to the underside of the tapped hole. The channel nuts is inserted length-ways into the central trough of the metal channel. Turing the nut 90 aligns the gripping teeth with the internal folded edges of the channel.
