70cl / 52.6% / Scotch Malt Whisky Society - This impressive Caol Ila was bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society for La Maison du Whisky. The single malt was matured for 30 years, which has softened some of those heavily peated notes we expect from the distillery. On the nose there are aromas of shellfish, iodine and lemon oil, woven together with a thick thread of peat smoke. The palate is well-rounded with acacia honey and smoked liquorice root, which is cooled by coconut milk on the finish.
